Sheffield United vs Liverpool
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 28 September 2019
Kick-off at 12:30 UK/ 13:30 CET
Venue: Bramall Lane (Sheffield).

The champions of England were found wanting at Norwich two weeks ago but the champions of Europe can avoid a similar fate when they visit another of the promoted sides, Sheffield United.

Jurgen Klopp has been saying the right things all week about what Chris Wilder has achieved in just over three years at Bramall Lane, and why would he say anything else?

Wilder’s feat in getting United from Sky Bet League One to the Premier League has been little short of miraculous and worthy of widescale praise.

But every now and then you have to expect a reality check – and this may very well be one of those occasions.

Klopp has every right to be wary and not just because of what unfolded at Carrow Road a fortnight ago when Norwich stunned Manchester City.

Sheffield United vs Liverpool Head-to-head

  • The last time these two met, the Reds recorded a 4-0 win.
  • It’s been 16 years since Sheffield last won against this opponent.
  • The last the six-time European champions lost a league encounter was back in 1994.
  • At this venue, the previous tie ended in a 1-1 draw.

Sheffield United vs Liverpool Prediction

At the moment, there might not be a better team in world football than Liverpool. And they surely are showing it on the pitch in the EPL. As of now, the Reds remain the only ones to boast of an unbeaten status. And in fact, they have a 100% win record, and that too with a five-point lead at the top.

On the other hand, we have the Blades, who, in spite of their good run, are still massively inexperienced compared to the mighty men of Jurgen Klopp.

Jordan Henderson and his boys will, of course, try to make the most out of City’s struggles, and with their monstrous defense, coupled with the on-fire frontline, the basic expectation is for them to script out a win to nil.

But taking into account the home advantage of Sheffield, and their good defense, a goal-riot is ruled out, and a scorecard of 0-1, 0-2 or 0-3 is on the cards, in favor of the guests.
