Kick-off at 12:30 UK/ 13:30 CET
Venue: Goodison Park (Liverpool).

Arsenal need a win to keep 16th-placed Everton at arm’s length when they visit Goodison Park in the 18th round of the Premier League on Saturday.

Everton vs Arsenal Head-to-head (h2h)

The home side secured a 1-0 win at the Goodison Park last season, when now Sheffield United defender Phil Jagielka scored the only goal in the match. That goal made sure to end a run of four consecutive wins for Arsenal and their first win over the Gunners since a 2-1 win on December 13 in 2016. Over 200 meetings between the two historic Premier League sides, and Arsenal have won 101 of them and only lost 57 times against this weekend’s hosts.

This will be the 100th game against Arsenal at Goodison Park and Everton are looking to mark the occasion with three points against an old foe.

Everton Team News, Updates and Facts

Everton Team News

Duncan Ferguson rotated his pack some in midweek, but he should have a fair few appear here as well.  With that said, the likes of midfielders Theo Walcott, Morgan Schneiderlin, Andre Gomes, and Jean Gbamin are out injured and will miss out.

Everton Key Man

If Everton want to grab goals here, the man most likely to do that is going to be Richarlison.  Whether he starts from up top or out wide, the Brazilian is a huge danger man that can produce havoc in a back line.  He has six goals and two assists so far to lead the team.  Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin should also lead the line.  He’s not the most consistent, but he always gives a hardworking shift and can punish a back line if afforded the time and space to do so.  Five goals show that much to be true.

Everton Team Form

Everton have two draws, a win, and two losses in their last five matches:

2-2 home draw, penalty loss vs Leicester (EFL Cup)
1-1 draw at Manchester United
3-1 home win vs Chelsea
5-2 loss at Liverpool
2-1 loss at Leicester

Everton Predicted Starting Line up

Expected Line up: 4-4-2

Everton likely XI

  • Goalkeeper:Pickford
  • Defenders:Coleman, Keane, Mina, Baines
  • Midfielders:Iwobi, Davies, Holgate, Bernard
  • Forwards:Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin

Arsenal Team News

Mikel Arteta has injury problems to the likes of defenders Sead Kolasinac, Hector Bellerin, Kieran Tierney, and Rob Holding and to midfielders Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos ahead of this trip to Liverpool.

Arsenal Key Man

It’s hard to fathom where the Gunners would be if it were not for the exploits of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.  The Gabonese forward has plundered 11 goals for them.  If not for him, they could seriously be in relegation trouble, such has been their wayward form.  Out wide, Nicolas Pepe is starting to show signs of his class.  He’s now got two goals and three assists on the season and is closer to proving he’s worth all of the cash the club stumped up in order to bring him in.
