England – Premier League
Date: Wednesday, 1 January 2020
Kick-off at 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Emirates Stadium (London).

Arsenal vs Man United, Premier League, Emirates Stadium 2020 gets off to a bang as Arsenal host the Manchester United in North London with both sides in need of the three points to show their fans they have hit the turning point and the new year is one to be excited for.

This has always been an enticing tie in the Premier League and even in each sides’ relative decline, none of that competition has appeared to die down in this clash either. That is highlighted in the fact that in seven of the last nine meetings between the two in all competitions, the net has bulged at least once at both ends during the 90 minutes.

Arsenal Team News, Updates and Facts

Arsenal Team News

Mikel Arteta will have an even bigger injury list now as Callum Chambers was added to the likes of Sead Kolasinac, Gabriel Martinelli, Hector Bellerin, Dani Ceballos, Rob Holding, Sokratis, and Kieran Tierney during Sunday’s loss to the Blues at the Emirates.

Arsenal Key Man

Right now, it’s hard to see where the quality is going to come from in regards to the Gunners besides Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.  He scored again, and looked to have set them on their way over Chelsea on Sunday, making it 13 goals on the season in the PL and giving his team a bit of hope.  Elsewhere, a thorough examination of Bernd Leno has to be made here.  He made one huge error in their loss to the Blues, and he didn’t do tremendously well on the second goal, either, leading you to wonder if he’s the right choice in goal.

Arsenal Team Form

Arsenal have two losses and three draws in their last five matches:

1-2 home loss vs Chelsea
1-1 draw at Bournemouth
0-0 draw at Everton
0-3 home loss vs Manchester City

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keeps on having defensive injuries, meaning that Axel Tuanzebe, Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly, and Tim Fosu-Mensah remain out.  Scott McTominay is also out in the midfield area.

Man United Key Man

Two games, two goals for Anthony Martial, and two wins for United.  It doesn’t get a whole lot better for the Frenchman or for United, and they will know they need him to strike for them if they are to keep up this form and slowly climb up the table to where they want to go.  His fellow Frenchman Paul Pogba is another to keep an eye on.  He was not even in the squad on Saturday, so if he’s fit to play he’ll be fresh and ready to bring his best to proceedings.
