The main event of UFC 281 will feature a battle between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira for the vacant Middleweight Championship. It will be held at Madison Square in New York City.
Israel Adesanya will be making his sixth attempt to defend his title. On the other hand, Alex Pereira is getting a title shot due to his victories over Adesanya in the past.
Carla Esparza will be defending her title against Weili Zhang. She is on her second reign as the champion and is facing off against Zhang for the title.
A lightweight fire fight between former title challengers Michael “Chandler” and Dustin “Puff” Poirier is set for the main event. It could catapult the winner into a title shot in 2023. In the co-main event, former champion Frank Edgar will make his final appearance at bantamweight when he takes on Chris “The Mexican” Gutierrez. Also, on the card, lightweights Dan Hooker will face off against “Claudio” Puelles.
