Canada vs Morocco
FIFA World Cup
Date: 1 December 2022, Thursday
Kick-off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: Al Thumama Stadium (Doha).

When Morocco plays Canada in the Al Thumama Stadium on Thursday, they will be attempting to advance to the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 group stage is almost complete, but there are still a few spots available for the Round of 16.

The top two finishers in Group F have not yet been determined.

Morocco will compete against Canada on Thursday at the Al Thumama Stadium in an effort to get to the knockout round.

Morocco and Croatia drew 0-0 to open the FIFA World Cup 2022, neither team appearing particularly strong.

However, the Atlas Lions significantly improved in their second game, defeating a listless Belgium 2-0.

And Walid Regragui’s club is one of only three groups in Qatar that hasn’t given up a goal so far.

On the other side, Canada’s disappointment at dropping its first two group stage matches may be understandable.

The Canucks have shown promise by challenging European powerhouses Croatia and Belgium.

However, John Herdman’s team lost both of their games, preventing them from moving on to the Round of 16.

The most recent friendly match between Morocco and Canada took place in 2016, when Hakim Ziyech scored a brace in the 4-0 victory for Morocco.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 match is examined in more detail by The Hard Tackle in advance of the most recent meeting between the two teams.

Belgium vs Canada Head to head  :

  • Morocco did not concede a goal against Croatia and Belgium
  • Canada have scored just one goal ever at the World Cups
  • Hakim Ziyech is a different beast when he plays for the national team

Belgium vs Canada Prediction :

Last Thursday, Canada scored their first-ever World Cup goal, making history.

However, the match against Croatia ended in anguish as a 4-1 loss abruptly ended their campaign.

For Les Rouges, the game on Thursday is therefore meaningless.

But they’ll be eager to finish strong against Morocco.

The Atlas Lions, one of Qatar’s most powerful clubs, is one of the three teams that has yet to give up a goal.

Alphonso Davies may pose a threat in spurts, but Morocco should feel secure at the back.

Hakim Ziyech should once more step up to the plate and score three points.

The Hard Tackle projects that Walid Regragui’s team will defeat their opponents 2-0, ending the group stage unblemished.

They may potentially win Group F based on the outcome of the match between Belgium and Croatia.

Belgium vs Canada Team News :

The decision for Canadian manager John Herdman is whether to give some marginal players a chance to play or to go all out for some points in what is virtually a dead game for them.

Ismael Kone, who has made two substitute appearances, might replace Atiba Hutchinson, 39, who might find it difficult to start a third game this week.

Junior Hoilett may return with Davies playing higher forward alongside Jonathan David after Cyle Larin did not have much of an impact from the start against Croatia.

Yassine Bounou, the goalkeeper for Morocco, had a very late injury before their match against Belgium; he was replaced by Munir Mohamedi after the playing of the national anthems because he felt sick.

Even though he was forced to leave the team’s opening group match against Croatia due to injury, Noussair Mazraoui passed a late fitness test to start at fullback.

Up to the last-minute change in goal, Regragui named an entirely unchanged lineup, and he’ll probably start the same 10 outfield players here as well.

Canada possible starting lineup:

St. Clair; Johnston, Steven Vitoria, Miller, Adekugbe; Buchanan, Kone, Eustaquio, Hoilett; Davies, David

Morocco possible starting lineup:

Bounou; Hakimi, Aguerd, Saiss, Mazraoui; Amrabat, Ounahi, Amallah; Ziyech, En-Nesyri, Boufal
