On June 10, the UFC will be holding its first event in Canada since the pandemic began when it holds a fight card in Vancouver, British Columbia. The main event features a women’s bantamweight title fight between Irene Aldana and Amanda Nunes. The two are ranked among the top five in the 135-pound division.
Originally, the event was supposed to feature a trilogy fight between Julianna Pea and Amanda Nunes. However, after the latter was pulled, Aldana was picked to fight in the main event. This is a huge opportunity for Aldana, as she has a lot of skills and is expected to have a clear advantage over her opponent.
In 2019, Irene showcased her striking skills by finishing Ketlen Vieira with a left hook. Her victory was also highlighted by her unique kick up to the liver, which she utilized to get past Macy Chiasson. It’s clear that Nunes is capable of winning regardless of where her fight takes place, and if she wants to make the most of her opportunity, she should try and get Aldana down.
The co-main event features Charles Oliveira, who used to be the lightweight titleholder of the UFC, facing off against Beneil Dariush, who has won eight straight fights. It’s going to be a thriller, as fighting Oliveira is like going through quick sand.
Beneil Dariush is a humble fighter who is currently ranked fourth in the 155-pound division. Like Oliveira, he has a lot of skills and has a high Figh-Q. This fight should be called the people’s main event.
