The Premier League’s bottom club visit west London this weekend and we think they will suffer yet another defeat at the hands of the Blues

Chelsea welcome Huddersfield to Stamford Bridge on Saturday with the Blues searching for a much needed Premier League win.

Maurizio Sarri’s side suffered one of their worst defeats in history on Wednesday evening going down 4-0 at Bournemouth, having not lost a league game by four goals since September 1996.

A home win against the division’s bottom team is just the kind of the game the Blues need, with Huddersfield having lost ten of their last 11 top-flight games.

Latest odds

The Terriers poor form means they are rank outsiders, with bet365 pricing them at 12/1 (13.00). Chelsea are offered at 1/6 (1.16) to record what would be their eighth home league win of the season. The draw is available at 13/2 (7.50).

Team news

Chelsea have no major injury concerns heading into the game. New signing Gonzalo Higuain started on Wednesday evening, and could be in line for his first league home start for the Blues.

Huddersfield midfielder Aaron Mooy came off the bench on Tuesday after nearly two months out with a knee injury. He should be available, while midfielder Philip Billing is pushing for a return.

Preview

Huddersfield were in action on Tuesday evening in new manager Jan Siewert’s first game in charge, but the West Yorkshire outfit went down 1-0 at home to Everton.

They created plenty of chances yet failed to capitalise, which is the story of the season considering their shot conversation rate of 6.84 per cent is by far the lowest in the Premier League.

The Terriers have failed to score in four of their last five matches and their total of eight goals scored in 11 away games in the top-flight is the second lowest.

Chelsea have the second-best home defensive record in the Premier League, so backing the hosts to keep a clean sheet makes plenty of sense.
