On Saturday, Dillian “The Beast” Whyte will face off against American boxer Jermaine Franklin in London.
The 35-year-old Londoner is coming off a knockout loss to Tyson Fury in April, his first major title shot. Franklin is an untested American.
Following his loss to Fury, Dillian faced off against Alexander Povetkin, who stopped him in the fifth round in August 2020. Then, in March 2019, he was stopped in the fourth round of their rematch. He said he would like to fight Anthony Joshua again if he can get past Franklin.
Joshua knocked out Whyte in the seventh round in 2015. Franklin, who is from Michigan, has been through a lot in his boxing career and is relatively unknown outside of the US. He last fought in May, where he stopped Rodney Moore in five rounds. This will be Franklin’s first trip outside the US.
